Reading Guild of Artists

It’s always a privilege and delight attending Chalkhouse Green Farm where a host of interesting and intriguing subject matter abound. Once again Guild members were warmly invited to the home of the Hall family where our hostess Sarah provides us with a cornucopia of cakes, biscuits and sandwiches as well as hot and cold drinks throughout the day.

Today’s weather could not have been more divergent from Wargrave Court as the blistering sun produced one of the hottest days on record! Fortunately there were many areas on the farmstead that remained cool, especially in the enclosed garden that featured a wonderful summer house of traditional Greek design. The fine weather produced some remarkable work, making full use of the colourful flower beds as well as capturing a menagerie of farm animals. The usual discussion at the end of the day’s outing provided the group with lots of feedback and inspiration as we all delighted in viewing the day’s production. Nine accomplished artists revealed their talents and raised £54 for the equally inspiring work conducted at The Soundabout facility, that provides assistance for disabled children through experience of music.
